Planning Guidance on Retail Site allocations

The Department for Communities and local Government (DCLG) is to issue planning guidance on retail land allocations. The guidance was announced as part of the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement and will urge councils to review retail land allocations taking account of changing local markets. DCLG has suggested that councils should set up “one stop shops” to provide a single point of contact for developers so that they can deal with planning, building regulations and environmental health as part of a comprehensive service to support the town centres.
