The Government’s Office for National Statistics has just released figures about the contribution of tourism to the UK economy.
The data from the new UK Tourism Satellite Account (TSA), an experimental dataset developed by the ONS Tourism Intelligence Unit, reveals how tourism contributes to the UK’s National Accounts. The total spend in 2008 includes £96.3 billion spent by UK residents and £16.3 billion spent by overseas visitors. Read the overview
